Solmar Hotels and Resorts was founded in 1974 by developer Don Luis Bulnes Molleda, one of the early pioneers in transforming Cabo San Lucas from a small fishing village into a major tourist destination. As a heartfelt tribute to his contributions to the community, a statue of his likeness overlooking Old Cabo marina was unveiled, not long after his passing in October 2011.

Accommodations

The luxury resort features 246 suites in six categories ranging from the 737 square foot Grand Studio to 6,232 square foot Four-Bedroom Penthouse. Each of the suites comes equipped with a minimum of fine furnishings, full size kitchen, plush bedding and linens, a private terrace and views of the Pacific Ocean. Additional amenities include flat screen TV, Wi-Fi, dining areas, marble floors and other modern conveniences. Penthouse suites also feature multiple bathrooms and a Jacuzzi tub, with the Four Bedroom Penthouse also featuring a private pool.

Dining

The resort features several dining options, including at poolside and superb fine dining at Don Luis and La Roca. Also onsite is a snack bar, deli, sports bar and Asian Lounge featuring a delectable sushi menu.

 

La Roca is the resort’s signature restaurant and features Baja-inspired cuisine, in addition to American and Continental dishes. Open for breakfast and dinner, La Roca is currently offering an impressive, six-course Farm-to-Table experience from the resort’s Executive Chef Alberto Collarte.

Also offered is room service and in villa dining, available 24 hours a day. An all-inclusive meal plan is also available. The resort also offers a prestocking service for food, beverages and kitchen/home necessities in a guest’s kitchen, with orders placed at least 48 hours in advance of their arrival.

Land’s End resort has eight beautiful swimming pools, including a kid’s pool and oceanfront Infinity pools. Complimenting the pools are poolside and swim-up bars.

The resort also has its own private beach although the waters of Baja Sur can be too rough for swimming.
