About The Kerry Hotel, Hong Kong

First opened in April, 2017, the 5-star Kerry Hotel, Hong Kong is the fourth and newest Hong Kong property from Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts in Hong Kong. Kerry Hotel features 546 rooms, many with spectacular views of the famed harbor. Additionally, there are in addition to several dining options, an Infinity pool and state-of-the-art fitness facilities. Lastly, it has and largest meeting space in the entire city.

Architect André Fu

This extraordinary hotel is a design by the multi-award winning architect and interior designer André Fu. He is a Hong Kong native and educated at Cambridge University in London. The Kerry Hotel is among the city’s first urban resorts. Mr. Fu has been at the design helm for  many other world-class hotels. For instance, St. Regis Hong Kong, Waldorf Astoria Bangkok and Andaz Singapore.

Despite being open a little more than two years, Kerry Hotel, Hong Kong has already earned a number of industry awards. For example, Best Bars in Hong Kong by Conde Nast Traveler, Best New Hotel in Hong Kong by TTG China and Best Urban Hotel by the AHEAD Awards . Described as the next generation of luxury hotels, the Kerry Hotels brand was first launched in February 2011 in Pudong. This is the vibrant financial center of Shanghai. A third location is in Beijing’s central business district. Due to its enormous successful and international appeal, more Kerry-branded hotels will eventually be built.

Getting To The Kerry Hotel From Hong Kong Airport

By Hotel Limousine

Kerry Hotel, Hong Kong offers limousine service to and from Hong Kong International Airport. Three types of car types are available, including SUVs (HKD 790 or about US $100), luxury limousines (HKD 890 or $114) and luxury vans for up to six passengers (HKD 990 or $126). Please note that the price will vary with the daily exchange rate.

Airport Express

Hong Kong’s MTR)operates a very efficient Airport Express train from Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) to the Kowloon MTR station. From Kowloon station, you can take a free hotel shuttle (K1) that serves Kerry Hotel, Hong Kong. The Airport Express takes approximately 20 minutes to reach Kowloon station. The one way fare is HKD 105 or about $13.40. Of all the transportation options, the Airport Express is the top recommendation. That’s because you be able to miss the Hong Kong traffic while getting into the city very quickly. Of course, the Airport Express is also the most affordable way to travel to and from the airport.

Octopus Card

Visitors who wish to use the MTR on a regular basis should consider purchasing an Octopus Card. You can find an Octopus Card at MTR Customer Service Centers, MTR ticket machines and other locations. In addition, the Octopus Card is accepted as payment by several retailers, restaurants and local attractions.

Taxis/Ride Share Service

Taxis and ride share services like Uber and Lyft are also available to and from Hong Kong International Airport. Taxi service generally takes 30 minutes and costs approximately HKD 350 or about $44.75. Of course, the taxi and rideshare service in Hong Kong is generally very good.

Kerry Hotel, Hong Kong offers spacious rooms and suites in 12 categories and with an impressive array of amenities that includes marble bathrooms, Nespresso coffee machines, flat screen TVs, complimentary Wi-Fi and electronic safes. Rooms and suites range from the 452 square foot Deluxe City View Room (42 square meters) to three types of luxury suites, including the lavish, 3,160 square foot Presidential Suite (294 square meters).

Club Rooms

Guests of Club Rooms and suites can enjoy a personalized level of service including a check in service and exclusive access to a 3,230 square foot private lounge (300 square meter) on Level 8. Club guests may also receive a late check out, subject to availability. The Club is open daily for breakfast and evening cocktails and canapés, in addition to complimentary beverages and snacks.

Dining Options

The Kerry Hotel, Hong Kong offers a number of restaurants and bar/lounges. For example, including there is buffet-styled Big Bay Café, Red Sugar bar and restaurant Hung Tong, led by Chinese Executive Chef Ken Yu. The hotel also features Bong-Italian restaurant,  lobby lounge and the independently managed Dockyard. Kerry Hotel, Hong Kong also holds the largest conference/event facilities in Hong Kong. 17 meeting spaces are available for reservation and ranges from 645 square feet (60 square meters) for a Hung Hom Ballroom on Level 1 for up to 30 people to the 18,790 square foot (1,756 square meter) Grand Ballroom on Level 2, the largest, pillar-less hotel ballroom in the entire city. Also available for special events, meetings, private parties, weddings and more is the Red Sugar Outdoor Deck on Level 7.

Shopping

Kerry Hotel, Hong features an onsite florist shop and Barberia Italiana barber shop. In recent years, the five star hotel added theDesk, a shared workplace for people on the go.

Transportation

In addition to the airport limousine service, Kerry Hotel Hong, Kong offers a complimentary shuttle service with stops at Hung Hom Railway Station (for drop offs only), Kowloon Shangri-La Hotel, Hankow Road in the Tsim Sha Tsui neighborhood and back to the Kerry Hotel. Hotel staff can also make arrangements for car rentals and taxi services.

Public Transportation

MTR Subway

Two MTR (Mass Transit Railway) are within walking distance from Kerry Hotel. In detail, they Whampoa Station 546 yards away (500 meters) and Hung Hom Station .86 mile or 1.4km. Of course, if it’s too far, you can also call for a cab at the hotel.

Hung Hom Ferry

Just a short walk from the hotel is Hung Hom Ferry Pier where visitors and guests can take a scenic ferry ride across Victoria Harbor to North Point and North Point subway station on Hong Kong Island. Service typically runs every half hour in either direction and one way fare costs HKD $7.50 or about a dollar.
