With several new American hotels set to open soon, it might be a good time to start planning for a long overdue vacation. After all, most everyone has been doing their best to stay closer to home for nearly a year. While it might be wise not to travel right away, anxious travelers can save money by booking reservations in advance of their trip. Broken down into two segments, this two-part story will first focus on new hotels listed alphabetically from A-L. The second part of the story that will cover M-Z will be unveiled next week.

Aman New York

Scheduled to open this spring, Aman New York will welcome guests inside Manhattan’s iconic Crown Building. Just minutes from Central Park, Aman New York will feature 83 elegantly furnished guestrooms and suites. Aman New York also houses 22 private residences, many of which have been presold. The stunning new American hotel also features multiple dining venues, 25,000 square foot Aman Spa and jazz venue. The spring opening coincides with the 100th anniversary of the historic building at the corner of Fifth Avenue and 57th Street.

Aman New York Opens August 2, 2022

Note: After a long delay, Aman New York is scheduled to open August 2, 2022. This new, five star hotel occupies the historic Crown Building, completed in 1921. The Crown Building was the original home of the Museum at Modern Art. It is located at the intersection of 57th Street and Fifth Avenue. Immediately upon its opening, Aman will be among the very best American hotels.

Ambiente Sedona

With an expected summer opening, Ambiente Sedona will be the first landscape hotel in North America. Featuring architectural designs that blend with the region’s famous red rocks, Ambiente is the first luxury resort to open in Sedona in over 20 years. After completion, Ambiente will feature 40 cube-shaped rooms that are perched upon steel pillars. Each room is 576 square feet and adorned with floor to ceiling windows made of bronze-tinted glass. At dusk these atrium-like rooms will cast stunning reflections as silhouettes at dusk. Ambiente Sedona will also have a two-story lobby, bar and lounge and swimming pool.

Grand Opening Ambiente Sedona

The original date of opening Ambiente Sedona was December, 2021. However, the luxury hotel was unable to open due to delays in construction and design. The new opening date was May, 2022 but that too, has already passed. At this time, the new opening date is now this summer. Either way, Ambiente Sedona isn’t a hotel for the general public. In fact, room rates start at $1500 per night.

One of Santa Fe’s most famous hotels will reopen in March with a dazzling new look. Dating to the 1920s, Bishops Lodge resides upon 317 acres bounded by the Rocky Mountains. The resort-spa will have more than 100 guestrooms, luxury suites, casitas and a bunkhouse. A very popular destination for its horseback riding, Bishops Lodge will have a pool with cabanas and excellent dining options. Also onsite is world class spa and private trout stream for fly fishing with Orvis equipment. The Auberge Collection property’s signature restaurant will be Skyfire, led by Chef Dean Fearing, called the “Father of Southwestern Cuisine”.
