About El Día de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead)

Día de Los Muertos is a holiday that is believed to have originated in Mexico more than 3,000 years ago. Held annually on November 1 and 2, the festive holiday honors friends and family members who have passed away. Although widely observed in Mexico and Latin America, Day of the Dead is celebrated worldwide. In fact, several Día de los Muertos events will be held across the United States and in Asia. This year’s celebrations are particularly special as most events were canceled last year due to COVID-19.
